Yesterday a friend of mine came in to see a truck that was new to our lot. He'd been several times, looking for a fairly specific kind of vehicle. This one suited him perfectly, but he politely declined my urging that he put down a deposit to secure first rights of refusal. He made an appointment to come in this afternoon to do the deal.
An hour or so before he was to arrive a colleague sold the truck.
