Rain And Readiness

It's October in BC's Lower Mainland.  Thus, it's raining.  It's pouring.  Earlier today I came across an elderly gentlemen reposing in an alley, a copy of Tropic of Cancer nearby, and, indeed, he was snoring loudly.  Looking out the window now, it's become that misty droplet rain we know so well:  it renders umbrellas nearly useless, as it seems to fill the air rather than falling from any particular direction.

When you ride or drive in the rain, you have to be ready for a higher level of unpredictability.  Hydroplaning, slicker roads as the oils in the asphalt bead up, lower visibility:  a whole host of factors add, er, 'adventure' to motoring during a deluge.

Another way rain and readiness are related:  generally folks who are determined enough to come out to the dealership during rain are closer to being ready to buy a quality vehicle.  They've probably gone through many if not most of the preliminary steps, and are more likely to have narrowed down their selection to a few choices.  They want to get in, get out, and nobody gets hurt.

I enjoy talking with pretty much every kind of customer, but when it's pouring sheets of rain, it's an added bonus that most folks are ready sooner to come in from the weather and sit down and make a good deal.
